Over the next few months, the infamous Tiger and the Emperor will be appearing at various celebrations around the UK - we hope you can join us! The magical performance, inspired by a traditional Bengali folktale, features a magnificent mechanical tiger, a statuesque emperor, colourful carnival dancers and more... just listen out for the Tiger roaring!

The Tiger & the Emperor in the "Beijing 2008" Olympic Torch Relay
1-4pm, Sunday 6th April, Whitechapel Road, London
The Olympic Torch will race through Tower Hamlets this Sunday as part of its epic global journey to Beijing where the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held this summer.
To accompany the torch, the magnificent Tiger and the Emperor will entertain, along with carnival dancers and flag bearers from local schools and the London Mosque.
Flag making for all will take place at the Idea Store Whitechapel between 1pm to 3pm. Everyone will be able to wave their colourful creations to welcome the Olympic Torch as it races by Whitechapel Tube Station between 3.30pm to 4pm.
Ali Pretty, Kinetika's Artistic Director said; "The giant Tiger and the Emperor are stunning show stoppers that will surely wow the crowds gathered to watch the torch pass through East London. As a local Tower Hamlets organisation, we're looking forward to collaborating with the local community and Tower Hamlets Council in the run up to 2012 and beyond."

Celebration of Bengali New Year - Boishakhi!
Immerse yourself in Bengali culture with Portsmouth's "Voyage East" Boishakhi celebrations. Following workshops throughout the week, the infamous Royal Bengal Tiger will roar through Gunwharf Quays to the soundtrack of bangla and bollywood music. The Shola Basra - a traditional Bengali boat created in community workshops - will join dancers from Art Asia and participants on the day in a joyful New Year celebration.

The Emperor & The Tiger Fireworks:
15th June, Waterfront Festival, Portsmouth
1st August, Carnival Weekend, Liverpool
The colourful Sylheti folktale will be brought to life with the Wise Man, the Emperor and the Guardian of the Jungle - before the firework finale lights up the skies. Expect fabulous fireworks and a spellbinding story!
In Portsmouth, Kinetika and Walk the Plank transform the waterfront with spoken narrative and magical special effects.
In Liverpool, Kinetika and Walk the Plank join forces with Brouhaha and local performers to present this exciting event, which has been commissioned for the Liverpool 08 European Capital of Culture.
