The
Kinetika Bloco has just returned from a very
successful trip to Beijing . The Kinetika
Bloco was chosen by the Mayor of London,
Ken Livingstone, to represent London as part of the
"Beijing 2008" Olympic
Cultural Festival.
The trip saw youth representatives from all
across the world coming together with the aim
of sharing and connecting each others cultural
journeys through music and dance.

'The
only nation I have now is my imagination'
Derek Walcott
(Nobel prize winner)
Thirty-five
costumed performers (aged from 14-22 years
old) performed "Imagination: Our Nation" (inspired
by Nobel prize winning Derek Walcott), that
explores contemporary British cultural identity
over the next seven years, with the capital
- London - as the focal
point. Five performances took place in memorable
locations such as on the Great Wall of China and
in Beijing city centre.

Stefan
Shillingford, 17 year old Kinetika Bloco member
says:
"It was the best experience of my teenage
life! We were made to feel like super star
performers! THANKS A MILLION!"
