Helen studied Fine Art and Sculpture at Sir John Cass School of Art in the early eighties. She ran her own business and supplied garments to retailers and wholesalers also working in the ragtrade/fashion industries in East London

Helen has been costume making for the last 24 years specialising in fashion/ evening wear. Six years ago she diversified into carnival style
costume techniques through Kinetika as a scholar on the Isle of Wight Making of Mas Course Helen found the creativity challenging and inspiring, since then she has travelled to Kolkata India in 2003 for their first western style carnival as a workshop leader and performer, Trinidad and Tobago and Venice on Research and Development trips studying carnival , then utilising her knowledge to pass her skills into community workshops as a lead artist.
