Yemanja draws its inspiration from Salvador, Bahia and the
Orixa faith, its gods and rituals to create a three part performance
in three regions that is about giving, receiving and giving back using
water as a metaphor.

Carnival 2002
A carnival on water, five floats were created on
barges and processed down The Limehouse Cut in East London, commissioned
by Greenwich and Docklands International Festival.
Celebrate
South Africa 2001
Celebrating contemporary South Africa, working
with Jackie Semela and five schools in London for a performance at Coin
Street Festival for The South African High Commission presented by Desmond
Tutu.

Burlesque 2000
The story of carnival, presenting 'Ol Mas characters
from Trinidad Carnival with 1500 Young People in Luton and resulting
in a book for children.

Design 1999
Two previous projects: In 1999, “Call The Rain” won Band of The Year at Notting Hill Carnival. In 1995/6. Ali Pretty
worked with Peter Minshall painting Joy To The World, winning Carnival
Queen in Trinidad, and then to produce 40 costumes for The Atlanta Olympics
Opening Ceremonies.
Rivers
of Vitality 1999 A carnival commission for The Salisbury Festival
that draws its inspiration from the five rivers that flow into Salisbury,
five processions converge into one.
